PMO/Project Management
Richard C. Barnier leads The Barnier Group PMO/Project Management practice which focuses on driving new business and technology capabilities and technology initiatives from an understanding of a client's brand, business, value proposition, drivers of customer satisfaction, and customer needs and expectations. This practice follows the Common Approach closely to develop a Technology Business Plan which:
- Identifies short, medium, and long-term gaps, challenges and new business opportunities.
- Identifies the new business and technology capabilities and technology initiatives which will drive defining a project portfolio.
- Identify timeframes and financial information at a high level.
The next steps are to complete the definition of a Project Portfolio and get approval of the prioritization of individual projects and the schedule by which projects will be planned and executed.
The purpose of project planning and execution is to ensure a client's expectations are met for the cost, timely delivery and capabilities delivered. Key components of this phase are:
- Develop high-quality project plans which will be the primary means of communicating project information to participants, stakeholders and sponsors.
- Provide technology support for project management as desired by the client.
- Provide Enterprise Change Management.
- Manage and, where needed, define IT processes and reviews for application design, quality assurance and user
acceptance testing, user acceptance and signoff, and launching the new capabilities.
- Ensure business user and customer satisfaction.
